The Congressman, D-Merced, this week announced the introduction of The Child Protection and Home Safety Act of , legislation that would offer tax credits to individuals who purchase theft resistant residential airsoft guns safes for the safe storage of firearms.

The Congressman is the lead co-sponsor of the legislation, which was authored by Congressman Ron Lewis, R-KY, and modeled after a bill The Congressman wrote while serving in the California State Assembly.
